Tour Description

Thursday (R, D) – Arrive to Norfolk International Airport (or drive) and make your way to the SpringHill Suites. This new hotel is ideally located on the boardwalk with every room having a balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. After a welcome reception where you meet your fellow explorers, walk a short distance along the boardwalk to Waterman’s – a local favorite known for their crab cakes! (other menu options are available)

Friday (B, L) – After breakfast at the hotel (included), the exploration begins with a day at Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. – Association for Research and Enlightenment. The famous spiritualist and healer is often dubbed “the Father of the New Age.” Well ahead of his time, his readings helped thousands of people towards health and wholeness.

A discussion on Edgar Cayce, 30-minute massage, lunch, guided meditation, and group past-life regression!

The evening is on your own.

dong-hung-templeSaturday (B, L) – After breakfast at your hotel (included), we travel to the Dong Hung Buddhist Temple/Education Center. It is named after the same well-known Dong Hung Temple that is located (and still active) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was there that the young monks of the Virginian Dong Hung temple entered the monkhood at their very tender age, studied their Buddhist doctrine and chanting, earned their full ordination, and practiced their spiritual calling until migrating to the United States and becoming full-time residents in Virginia.

Today you will enjoy a talk on Dharma, a walking meditation, lunch and a session learning about the benefits of chanting as well as learning how to chant!
Dinner tonight is on your own to discover all that the beach has to offer!

hampton-roads-hindu-temple-vaSunday (B, L, D) – After breakfast at your hotel (included), we travel to the Hindu Temple of Hampton Roads. The new Temple Complex is the center of a small but active Hindu community of about 500 families. The Hindu religion is not simply a religion of rituals, since it integrates culture and religion into daily lives.

This morning the priest will spend time discussing this colorful religion and some of their traditions. Then, after a delightful guided yoga session, you are the hosts of a community lunch. This tight-knit community will be invited to enjoy lunch so you can “mix and mingle” and experience more of the Hindu way of life.

This afternoon let your spirit soar, get in touch with your inner child while kite-flying on the beach!

Dinner tonight is at a favorite – Rockafeller’s, located on Lake Rudee.

Monday (B) – After breakfast at your hotel (included), enjoy one last group event. The perfect way to say good-bye to your fellow explorers – Yoga on the beach. (All levels will be accommodated.)
